James Courtney in 'Rev Up Your Wild Side' Photo Exhibition
Media Release - August 2008
Harley-Davidson Australia today announced an exclusive collaboration with top Australian sports stars (including V8 Supercar driver James Courtney) - a photo exhibition entitled 'Rev Up Your Wild Side'. The collection of stylized black and white photographs will be auctioned to raise money for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA).
A unique artistic concept has been created for each image celebrating both the personality of the sports star and unique features of Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Both 2008 and 2009 model Harley-Davidson motorcycles are featured in the exhibition, ranging from the legendary Fat Bob to the new flat track racer XR1200.
James Courtney said: "Research into prostate cancer is important, so I was keen to be involved to try and help out in the battle against this illness. The photo shoot was one of the most enjoyable I've done. Often you stand around and wait for things to happen, but in this instance I got to ride a motorcycle which was much more fun."
"I own one of these bikes they photographed me on (Harley Davidson Night Rod Special). It's a 'new twist' on traditional Harley Davidson styling and has genuine 'street cred'. This is a bike that's perfect for cruising around at a leisurely speed and enjoying yourself. I've been on two-hour rides from my home on the Gold Coast up to the (Gold Coast) Hinterland and back. It's a great way to relax between my racing commitments with Ford in V8 Supercars."
Adrian O'Donoughue, Marketing Manager for Harley-Davidson Australia says, "The world over, Harley-Davidson has come to epitomize 'free-spirit' and 'individualism'. We are excited to be working with this diverse range of high performance athletes as they celebrate their own wild side, whilst raising awareness for prostate cancer research."
Key photographic exhibition participants include;
• Stirling Mortlock – Captain of Australia's National Rugby Union team - The Wallabies
• Craig Wing – South Sydney Rabbitohs NRL
• Willie Mason – Sydney Roosters NRL
• Peter Everitt, Amon Buchanan and Jude Bolton – Sydney Swans AFL (Group shot)
• Ky Hurst – Olympic swimmer and Australian Iron Man
• James Courtney – V8 Supercar driver – JELD-WEN Motor Sports
• Zane Holmes – World Life Saving Champion and Australian Iron Man
• David Barlow – Australian Olympics basketball team 'Boomers' and Melbourne Tigers

• Nikki Hudson – Australian Olympics hockey team - 'Hockeyroos'
• Amy Taylor – National Women's Football team – 'The Matildas' (Retired)

Andrew Giles, PCFA CEO said, "We are delighted to work with Harley-Davidson Australia and some of the country's best sporting talent. The PCFA truly values Harley-Davidson Australia's efforts to raise awareness and funds to fight prostate cancer."
Photo shoots for each sporting personality are currently in progress and a media launch event and charity auction will be held in Sydney in early November 2008.
